Tom Nyerges was born and grew up in Adelaide , South Australia, the son of Hungarian immigrant parents.
He studied dentistry at Adelaide University and graduated in 1980. In 1981 he came to UK and worked in various dental practices around London, gaining extensive and broad experience.
He started his own "Holistic" dental practice in Luton in 1992. This was primarily motivated by his increasing reluctance to use dental amalgam as a filling material, due to safety concerns for patients.
Tom has always kept up with new developments in general dentistry by continous education and also in "Biological" and "Holistic" dentistry. He has a very strong interest in Nutrition and "Natural" or "Complementary" Medicine and has studied widely in these areas, including Homeopathy , Naturopathy and Kinesiology. Tom is a member of the British Society for Mercury Free Dentistry and British Dental Homeopathic Association.
Tom has always had a strong interest in music, and has been a very keen guitarist,and is also a published songwriter. Other interests include travel, food, thoroughbred horse racing, motorcycling, philosophy, the natural world and many others.
He also regularly does drug education lectures in schools. Tom does this on a voluntary basis and has lectured in over 50 schools in London, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
Tom has a very practical approach to Dentistry and likes to keep things as simple as possible, without compromising quality and care. Dentistry, by nature, can be a very involved and highly technical subject, however with his extensive experience and excellent communication skills Dr. Tom can make concepts very simple and totally understandable for everyone. He will spend the time with his clients to make sure everything is completely understood , and that everyone can make "fully informed" choices regarding treatment and treatment options.
Tom takes great pride in his professional skills, his dental practice and the service they provide their clients. He considers it a real privilege to be able to help people with respect to their healthcare ,and his greatest source of satisfaction is the satisfaction of his clients and his staff, and the trust they place in him and his professional expertise.
